The Cultural Center offers three opportunities for artists to work independently, in our Pottery Open Studio, Digital Media Open Studio, and Figure Open Studio. Read below for details.


 

Open Studio – Pottery
No Instruction Offered
Wednesdays, 12 – 4pm

Work independently in our pottery studio. Artists can use four potter's wheels, slab roller, extruder, sculpture stands, and tables to create independently. Kiln use available with prior consent with $35 firing fee.

 

Open Studio – Figure
No Instruction Offered
Selected Saturdays, 11am – 2pm

Figure Open Studio offers studio space for artists interested in figurative study to create independent of instruction, working from a life model. Figure Open Studio sessions will begin with two five minute warm-up drawing sessions, then a ten minute warm-up drawing session. The rest of the time will be dedicated to one pose. Artists can use any medium but photography. The poses will be a range of standing, sitting and lying down. Tables, chairs, stools, and easels are provided, just bring your own supplies! $10 model fee.

Opportunity for Extended Open Studio Session with Dancer as Model
We have the opportunity to have a dancer who is with the Palm Beach Ballet and Lexington Ballet. He would be a perfect model for practicing anatomy and seeing the shapes of the muscles. He will be clothed in form-fitting ballet shorts. He can stay an extended time for those who wish to stay longer to take advantage of this opportunity.
