SUMMER ARTS WORKSHOPS FOR AGES 9 TO 18

The summer arts workshops for ages 9 to 18 are designed for both art enthusiasts of all or no skill level and those who have a desire to pursue an education in the arts. This year we are proud to announce the new partnerships with Jacksonville University, Alhambra Dinner Theatre, University of Florida, Ringling School of Art and Design and the ongoing partnership with Savannah School of Art and Design & A. Chefs Cooking Studio.

August 9 - 13
Advanced Techniques in Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator
Zach Castedo, from the University of Florida
Ages 12 and up
M –F, 9am– 2pm
This course will move beyond the basics of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator CS4 to explore the more advanced techniques that these programs are capable of producing. Only a very general knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator tools are required to start exploring some of these powerful techniques.

August 16 - 20
Costume/Fashion Design
Nancy Dawn Testa, Savannah College of Art and Design Instructor
Ages 9 and up
M –F, 9am– 2pm
Students will learn the first steps toward design with the basic skills of color design renderings.  Projects will be offered in hand sewing, beading, hand appliqué and simple construction.  Students will have the opportunity to work with a variety of materials to create individually designed, one of a kind pieces.
