ART TOUR ITINERARY
7:45am: All Aboard! Boarding begins. Please meet at the Books-a-Million parking lot located in Marsh Landing Parkway. 8am: Bus departs promptly at 8am. Coffee and pastries will be served. 10:30am-11:30am: Arrive and tour Owen's Thomas House and Gardens 12noon--12:45pm: Light lunch served at Cafe Zeum located in the Jepson Center and featured exhibits. 1:00 - 2:15pm: Guided tour of the Jepson Center 2:30 - 3:15: Guided Tour of the Telfair Academy and art collections. 3:30pm: Departure from Savannah. Built in 1819, this stately former residence is now a historic house museum comprised primarily of furnishings and art from the Owen's family.
The Jepson Center
The Jepson Center features over 7,500 square feet of gallery space for major traveling exhibitions and from their permanent collection.
Featured Exhibits at the Jepson Center include:
"Offering of the Angels: Paintings and Tapestries from the UFFIZI GALLERY". Italian masterworks from the Renaissance through the Baroque period drawn from the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, Italy.
" Mary Telfair and the Grand Tour"Rarely exhibited works from Mary Telfair's personal collection from her travels abroad.
The Telfair Academy
Built in 1818 for Alexander Telfair, this former mansion now houses 19th and 20th century American and European art.
